Petition Signatures submitted to County Clerk

After months of petitioning throughout the county, on Monday, June 20th we delivered boxes full of signed petitions and voter registration forms to the Mendocino County Clerk-Record for validation. Thank you to everyone who helped us circulate the petitions, and to all of our neighbors who signed in support of a safe and regulated cannabis industry!

In order to qualify for the ballot, we needed to collect approximately 2500 signatures by registered voters in Mendocino County.
IMG_4329We submitted a grand total of 4,342 signatures and are very optimistic that we will meet the validity rate.

What happens next?
The Clerk’s office has up to 6 working weeks to verify the signatures.  Once they have confirmed the validity of the signatures, they will submit the Initiative to the Board of Supervisors (BOS) for consideration.
The BOS has two options:
(1) adopt it as an ordinance immediately
(2) put it on the November 8th ballot for the voters to decide
